Bang Printing has a commitment be more environmentally responsible. One step Bang Printing has taken is becoming a signer to the Treatise on Responsible Paper Use. The Treatise, guided by Green Press Initiative, is a declaration of best environmental practices for the book industry, developed by publishers, printers, mills and other stakeholders over a five month period. Bang Printing is proud to join over 150 other signers of the Treatise. We will continue to encourage publishers and printers in the goals of the Treatise. Lean Manufacturing Initiative

Bang Printing is continually at work to be more competitive in the marketplace. A great example of this is our Lean Manufacturing Initiative, which kicked off in September 2006. By tailoring the fundamental principals of Lean Manufacturing to the needs of Bang Printing, we expect to reduce waste, decrease production times, increase quality, efficiencies and safety here at our plant. The Lean Manufacturing Initiative is a team project, shared by all departments at Bang Printing. Several projects are currently underway and we are already seeing positive results. Some of the most visible changes in many areas have been a result of the "5-S" portion of Lean Manufacturing. The name 5-S is derived from the 5 organizational steps in the plan: Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. We will be working to implement the 5-S plan and other portions of the Lean Manufacturing Initiative throughout our organization in the upcoming year.
